The Anatomy Trains Structural Integration Twelve series is a "recipe" designed to unwind, open, and integrate the entire being into a more upright and functional state. The series is not designed to "fix"" anything, but rather to bring you into a better relationship with yourself and gravity so you can heal yourself. It is an educational experience, using touch and movement to open and create awareness in the body. Each series will be tailored to individual patterns and goals of the client. The series is a journey into greater embodiment and requires active participation from the client throughout the series to achieve the desired results.
The work starts with the superficial sleeve. These first four sessions separate the action muscles from the postural ones that lie deeper. Sessions 5-8 are on the postural muscles and the fascia that separates and encapsulates them. Freeing and differentiating these two layers allows the postural muscles to support you and gives more freedom to superficial layers for movement.
Each session starts with a Bodyreading where I will assess your postural patterns. The work is done on a table, sitting on a bench and even some standing. This way we can see how gravity and movement affect the tissues.
The series is designed to work with your whole system rather than just working on the parts that hurt. That being said the series is a great way to address the following, issues which even though they may seem localized are really more global.
Some conditions I've had success with so far:
Session One: The Superficial Front Line/Opening the Breath
This line starts at the top of the foot, runs up the front of the leg, into the rectus abdominis, pectorals and into the anterior neck. The aim of this session is to bring lift and vitality to the front of body.
Session Two: Superficial Back Line/Grounding Down
This line starts at the front of the scalp and runs in a continuous line to the bottoms of the feet. Balancing the back line with the front line is the name of game here.
Session Three: Lateral Line/Opening the Gills and Freeing the Hips
This line starts at the outside of the ankle and runs up to the sides of the neck. This session aims to balance the hips left to right, open the ribcage from the sides and balance the shoulder from above and below.
Session Four: The Spiral/The Unwinding
This complex line wraps around the body like a double helix. It is involved in supporting the arch, knee stability and balancing the scapula X of shoulders. This session unwinds rotations in the superficial sleeve.
Session Five: Lower Deep Front Line/Lift Off
This line runs from the inner arch up to the pelvic floor. Goals of this session are releasing the deep core, connecting to the adductors, and providing support for the organs from below.
Session Six: Upper Deep Front line/Releasing the Deep Breath
This session continues to follow the Deep Front line up to the iliopsoas complex and diaphragm and includes deeper abdominal and pectoral work.
Session Seven: Deep Back line
This session includes deeper work on posterior leg, external rotators like piriformis, posterior pelvis floor and deeper back work to ease bends and rotations in spine.
Session Eight/Putting Your Head on Straight
This session aims to balance the head on top of the Deep Front Line. Work inside the mouth to balance the Jaw and inside the nose to balance the sphenoid bone is included. (You can opt out of the mouth/nose work)
Session Nine: Lower Body Integration
Balance the body around its new core and give the 3-dimensional movement to pelvis
Session Ten: Upper Body Integration
Balance the ribcage on top of the pelvis
Session Eleven: Integrating Shoulders and Arms
Balance shoulders over the ribs and ease and fine tune the arms.
Session Twelve: The send off
Balance the lines and joints. Completion, satisfaction, independence, empowerment.
Sessions are $150 and are 90 minutes.
